Consultations

You will be greeted by our friendly and caring team, helping you to feel confident that you’re in good hands. When you’re relaxed, your pet will feel less stressed. You’ll receive expert advice from the most experienced and qualified vets in the region, based on a comprehensive clinical examination. You’ll have the chance to discuss a full range of treatment options with your veterinarian.

VACCINATIONS
When you bring your pet to us for vaccinations, we will include a complimentary wellness consultation, so you can talk over any general concerns you may have about your pet’s health. We use the highest-quality vaccines from the USA and UK . For your convenience, we’ll remind you when its time for your pet to have his/her boosters . And we’ll provide free information packs for puppies and kittens, to help keep your new family member happy and healthy.

SPAYING AND NEUTER
There are many reasons why we highly recommend that your cat or dog is neutered. Spaying and castration is healthier for the animal in the long run, and minimizes the risk of various cancers, and other health problems from developing. Unneutered male cats and dogs may become aggressive if there is a female on heat in the vicinity: this can lead to fighting and injuries . Unneutered male cats and dogs can pick up the scent of a female on heat from up to 2 kilometers away, and they will often run off in search of her. Then, unable to find their way home, they are either picked up by someone or adapt to a miserable life on the street, adding to the growing problem of strays; or worse, are injured or killed. Even home-loving female dogs can turn into ‘escape artists’ when on heat, in an effort to find a mate. This is dangerous for them, and stressful for you.

• Females bleed for up to 2 weeks, every six months or so, which can be unhygienic and hard to cope with.
• Animals live in the moment, so your pet will never ‘regret’ being neutered: he or she will not even be aware of any change.
• Behaviour changes are very slight, and your pet will most likely be happier and more affectionate, yet still ready to exercise/play/run, just like before. It’s a myth that they will become lazy, so keep on walking to stay fit! He/she will probably get on better with other dogs, and generally be more relaxed.

MICRO-CHIPPING
We can microchip your pet so all his/her information is available.
At Parkview we don’t usually recommend the use of thermal microchips (which give a temperature reading), as the lack of reliable core temperature information can be misleading.

ORAL AND DENTAL CARE
Did you know that oral care and teeth cleaning are more than just a cure for bad breath?
They can prevent heart, kidney and liver problems. Dental plaque can build up due to the modern diet of today’s pets. There’s no doubt that your pet will not only look better, but will also feel better with clean teeth, as nature intended. In the case of a pet with tooth decay, our oral and dental procedures can reduce pain, improve behavior, and increase their quality of life.
Our vets will be pleased to give you an initial assessment of your pets dental needs.

DERMATOLOGY
Ticks and fleas
Unfortunately, ticks are prevalent in Qatar. Untreated infestations can lead to such serious illnesses such as Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis and Lyme’s Disease to name a few. Ticks live everywhere in the environment, so even the best cared-for pet can succumb to an infestation.
We stock a comprehensive range of tick and flea treatments, and will be happy to advise you on the right one to keep your pet, happy, healthy and free of parasites.
Allergy testing.
We can carry out advanced allergy testing for hard-to-diagnose skin complaints, to ensure that the treatment your pet receives is the most appropriate for her condition.

ANESTHETICS

• We believe in taking all measures required to anesthetize your pet with a minimum of distress and the highest degree of safety.
• We use the most appropriate combination of the best anesthetic drugs on the market, which we import from the UK and USA, to ensure quality and consistency
• We use advanced equipment to ensure that your pet’s vital signs are monitored at all times.
• Modern Anesthetic Protocols:
• At Parkview Pet Center we pride ourselves on using gold-standard anesthetic protocols in order to minimize risks.
• We like to admit animals early so we can administer their pre-medication. These drugs enable your pet to settle prior to surgery.
• At this time pain medication is also administered.
• Throughout the operation the pet is monitored by a nurse fully trained in anesthetics.
• We take all measures to bring your pet round safely, gently and as quickly as possible.
• After surgery, your pet will spend a few hours resting quietly. When he/she comes round, we’ll do a careful check to make sure that all is well.
• In the majority of cases the pet will be able to go home the same day. We will ensure your pet is provided with pain relief medication if
• this is indicated. Your vet will be always available to discuss the post operative care of your pet when you come to collect them.

ON-SITE LAB

• We have an on-site pharmacy, fully stocked with a wide range of medications for all treatments.
• We import the best quality medications from the UK and USA, to ensure quality and consistency.

EUTHANASIA

• In the sad event that, in case of terminal illness or uncontrollable pain, you make the decision to humanely end your pet’s suffering via euthanasia, we understand how difficult this can be.
• We know you will want this to be handled with as much kindness and gentleness as possible.
• You can trust us to be sensitive and caring to make sure your pet doesn’t suffer any pain or fear.
• Sedation will be given if required, so your pet is literally, ‘put to sleep’, with no distress to him/her.
  And we know you’ll be grieving, so we’ll also be as sensitive to your needs as we can.
• It may be that, at this time, the prospect of bringing your pet to the centre is too distressing for you. For clients who prefer, we can provide this service in your own home.
• Please note that, for ethical reasons, Parkview Pet Center will never consider euthanasia as an option for healthy animals.
• The only possible exception would be in the case of an animal which represents a danger to people, and this decision would only be taken if all other responsible courses of action had been ruled out.
